Marriott's new global promotion starts today

Marriott’s first global promotion for 2023 starts today and runs until 23 April 2023. It’s been almost 2 months since their last promotion ended on 12 December 2022, that’s an awfully long time when you consider that rivals such as Hilton Honors offer year-round promotion without a single days gap.

So, what’s the new promotion like? Well it is a bit of a mixed bag.

I say that because it’s excellent for those looking to accelerate earning of elite night credits, and as a result, earn or upgrade status in the Marriott Bonvoy program. But if your main motivation was to earn a big pile of bonus points, you may find that the promotion doesn’t really do much for you. Lets get into the details.

Double Elite Night Credit + 1,000 Points

Earn Double Night Credits and 1,000 bonus points per paid night with the new Marriott promo

Marriott Bonvoy members who register for the offer by 9 April 2023, and complete paid stays at Marriott properties between 7 February 2023 and 23 April 2023 will earn:

Double elite night credit for each night of stay.
1,000 bonus Marriott Bonvoy points per night.

Note that only paid stays are eligible for the promotion, if you redeem points or Free Night Award such as the one offered at 75 Nights Annual Choice Benefit, or use Cash + Points to pay for your stay, you will not earn bonus points or double nights.

All Marriott properties globally, with a few exceptions are participating in the promotion which is nice.

How many points do Marriott Bonvoy Member Earn

Marriott Bonvoy members earn 10 points per $1 (US$) at most Marriott brands worldwide, with the exception of Element, Residence Inn and TownePlace Suites where the earning drops to 5 points per $1.

On top of this, Marriott Bonvoy Elites earn the following tier bonus:

Silver elites earn 10% bonus points.
Gold elites earn 25% bonus points.
Platinum elites earn 50% bonus points.
Titanium and Ambassador elites earn 75% bonus points.

Marriott’s new global promotion kicks-off today and runs until 23 April 2023. If you are loyal to Marriott and will be travelling during the promotional period, registering for the offer is a no-brainer.

While there’s not much to get excited about in terms of earning bonus points, the promotion can be quite lucrative for those wanting to earn or upgrade status in the Marriott Bonvoy program.
